Are you passionate about the work that we do, and want to work towards a community free from domestic abuse? Do you understand that children and young people can be victims in their own right, and require dedicated specialist support?
We are looking to hire a proactive, positive, and non-judgmental feminist to work in our Children and Young People’s Service, to provide quality, trauma-informed, emotional and practical support to children and young people of all genders who have experienced domestic abuse. Our CYP Service also supports children affected by family breakdown or substance use, and Looked After Children (LAC). We also support young people in their own unhealthy or abusive relationships, and those affected by other forms of gender-based violence.
The ideal candidate will treat everyone with respect, and have a good understand of children’s rights. She will have experience of working with children and young people in a professional setting, and she will understand the affects of domestic abuse through a gendered-analysis. She will have excellent communication skills, and will be passionate about creating a safer and more inclusive Shetland for everyone.
The post is part-time, and the successful candidate will be required to work 21 hrs per week.
The salary for this post is £31,384 – £34,433 per annum pro rata, inclusive of the Distant Islands Allowance.
